On Sunday morning, 27 November 2016, Gaza Court of Cassation upheld death sentence of Z. M, 39, resident of Beit Lahiya, after being convicted of assaulting S.Sh, 9, and killing her on 7 December 2004.
On 2 November 2016, the Court of First Instance sentenced him to death and the Court of Appeal confirmed this decision on 27 April 2016.
The murder crime was committed in 2004, when the girl was found stabbed in her abdomen and chest in Beit Lahiya western St. Her body was referred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza for forensic examination. According to the forensic report, the victim was murdered after she was deliberately strangled and stabbed.
