At approximately 9:00 am on Friday, 15 January 2016, Israeli policemen detained elderly woman Mazyona Mohammed Awwad Al Sha’er, 64, resident of As-Salam neighborhood south of Rafah. She was detained near Al ‘Amoud door in Jerusalem while she was on her way to pray at Al Aqsa mosque with a group of residents of Gaza. According to her husband, Ramadan Salman Awwad Al Sha’er, the Israeli police detained his wife until 5:00 pm on the same day in a police station near Al Aqsa mosque. She was subject to stripped search by a policewoman. Police offers confiscated 1,800 ILS and $100 from her and gave her just 200 ILS . She was interrogated about having this amount of money. The Israeli police tried to force her to confess that she intended to give the money for Murabiteen (prayers who stay at Al Aqsa Mosque). She was also interrogated about her sons’ work.
