Obliterated families

Siyam family, Rafah

At approximately 6:30 am on Monday 21 July 2014, Israeli airstrikes targeted the area where the extended Siyam family house is located, in the Al Siyamat neighbourhood, north of Rafah. Their neighbours - Ahmed Salman Abu Sneimeh - house was hit.  When the Siyam family heard the explosions around them they fled their home afraid of further Israeli attacks on their neighbour’s house. Six families compromised of 34 members escaped. As soon as they left the house door, an Israeli drone fired a missile directly on them. As a result, 13 people were killed, including eight children. Al Mezan identified their names as follows:

 

  1. Kamal Mahrous Siyam (31)
  2. Mohammed Mahrous Siyam (27). Kamal's brother
  3. Sumoud Nasser Mustafa Siyam (26) Mohammed's wife
  4. Mu'een Mohammed Siyam (5). Mohammed's son, died the next day of the attack.
  5. Shirin Mohammed Siyam (31.) Nabi's wife
  6. Ghaidaa Nabil Siyam (7). Nabil and Shirin’s daughter
  7. Mustafa Nabil Siyam (9). Nabil and Shirin’s son
  8. Abdel Rahman Nabil Siyam (6). Nabil and Shirin’s son
  9. Dalal Nabil Siyam (9 months). Nabil and Shirin’s daughter
  10. Ahmed Ayman Mahrous Siyam (15). Kamal’s cousin
  11. Ameen Ayman Mahrous Siyam (17). Ahmed’s brother
  12.  Sa'eda Hassan Siyam (42). Died of her wounds one month after the attack on 14 August 2014.
  13. Mohammed Ameen Siyam (15). He died on 18 November 2014 in Turkey from his wounds.
