At approximately 7:45 am on Friday 27 June 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) fired an artillery shell at Al Huda mosque’s minaret in Khuza’ village, about 1,500 meters away from the separation fence.
After 5 minutes, the IOF fired an artillery shell at Al Taqwa mosque’s minaret in Khuza’a village, about 1,600 meters away from the separation fence.
As a result, the two minarets were damaged and shrapnel scattered in the area of At-Taqwa mosque causing injury for eight people who were there.
Among the injuries two children and three women, and they were admitted to Gaza European hospital in Khan Younis.
Al Mezan identified their names as follows:
Nesrin Nasrallah Mohammed An-Najjar, 35, sustained shrapnel in her right shoulder and the left thigh;
Tareq Ibrahim An-Najjar, 9, sustained shrapnel in his left hand;
Zakeyya Hammoda Mahmoud Qdeeh, 49, sustained shrapnel in her head;
Samar Rasmi Mohammed An-Najjar, 22, sustained shrapnel in her hands;
Seraj Wael Mohammed An-Najjar, 11, sustained shrapnel in his back and his injury is critical;
Ibrahim Mahmoud Ibrahim An-Njjar, 22, sustained shrapnel in his left hand fingers;
Baker Hussein Mohammed An-Najjar, 25, sustained shrapnel in his left leg and bruises in his back; and
Omar Abdel Kareem Abdallah An-Naqa, 21, sustained shrapnel in hands and legs.
