At approximately 3:30 pm on Monday 10 October 2011, Ahmed Ayada Salem Al ‘Azazma, 24, was admitted dead on arrival to Kamal Odwan Hospital.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, at approximately 11:40 am on the same day, the sound of an explosion was heard near the border area, to the west of Erez crossing.
At approximately 1:30 pm on the same day, the Palestinian side coordinated with the Israelis to allow an ambulance from the Palestinian Red Crescent to arrive at the scene.
At approximately 2:15 pm on the same day, medics were allowed to enter the area and search for potentially dead and injured persons.
Medics found the body of Al ‘Azazma about 200 meters away from the border separation fence.
The body, particularly its upper parts, had been torn to pieces.
