At approximately 8:00 am on Wednesday 5 October 2011, Israeli naval vessels patrolling the Gaza sea opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of the As-Sudaniya area, west of the town of Jabaliya in North Gaza district.
The firing frightened the fishermen on the boats and they sailed to land immediately.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
