At approximately 4:00 pm on Thursday 1 September 2011, the Internal Security Apparatus in Khan Younis banned two meetings for Fatah members in celebration of ‘Eid Al Fitr.
The first meeting was scheduled to be organized at Happy City Hall in the Al Gezan area of Khan Younis.
Ayman An-Najjar, the director of the hall, informed one of the meeting organizers that he had received a phone call from the Internal Security Apparatus informing him of that office’s decision to cancel the meeting.
The second meeting was supposed to be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday 1 September 2011 at Royal Pallas Hall.
Before the scheduled time, the manager of the Hall informed one of the meeting organizers that he had received a phone call from the Internal Security Apparatus informing him of its decision to cancel the meeting.
The reasons for these bans have remained unknown.
