7 June 2011
Short Link:
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) closed Erez Crossing for two days starting on Tuesday 7 June 2011 until Thursday morning 9 June 2010.
A small number of people usually travel on Fridays as the crossing is always closed on weekends.
The closure comes for the start of Jewish holidays.
The closure of Erez will prevent many people; including Palestinian patients, businessmen, merchants, and travellers to Jordan Bridge as well as international journalists, staff of international organizations, and diplomats from leaving or entering Gaza.
The IOF decreased the working hours on Fridays to be only one hour from 8am to 9am.
