Short Link:
Although the ceasefire between Palestinians and Israelis went into effect lastThursday, Israeli warships, stationed in the sea off the coast of Beit Lahia, opened fire intensively toward Palestinian fishing boats.
The warships fired in an attempt to alert fishermen not to approach them or to direct them to other areas.
It is noteworthy that the firing repeated in the evening and at daybreak, on a daily intermittent basis.
The ceasefire started on Thursday, 19/6/2008, at approximately 8:00 pm.
It lasted until Sunday 22/6/2008.
No causalities or damages were reported from the firing.
