15 Palestinians killed and 54 injured in three days as IOF offensive escalates

The IOF have continued their escalating offensive against Palestinian civilians and their property in the OPT.
After the completion of the Israeli military operations "Summer Rains" and "Autumn Clouds" in Gaza, the IOF began a new operation during which besieged residential areas, destroyed homes and infrastructure, and killed and injured dozens.
These practices have caused even more suffering for civilians, particularly at this time, as the economic situation in severely deteriorating and Palestinians have become unable to secure their food and medicine.
In the first three days of the recent IOF attack, which started on 21 November 2006, 15 Palestinian have been killed; including two children and two women, and 54 wounded including 17 children and 3 women.
According to the field investigations by Al Mezan, on 24 November, at approximately 8:20, the IOF opened fire at a group of youths near Al Ja'el gas station.
Ayman Mohammed Salem Jouda, aged 25, was killed from a live bullet in the chest.
Jouda reportedly remained on the ground bleeding for 30 minutes as medical personnel were denied access to scene of the attack.
Further, at approximately 11.
10am, IOF troops stationed in Qleibu area in Beit Lahia, opened fire at a group of children who were playing close to Al Sheikh Eid Mosque, at the northern entrance of nearby neighborhood of Tel Az Za'ater in Jabalia.
The attack resulted in the killing of Abd Al Aziz Salman Salman, aged 10, and the injury of Muhiy Ad-Din Abdul Rahman Al Mabhouh, aged 8, who sustained moderate injuries.
Furthermore, at approximately 11:55am, IOF tanks stationed in Qleibu neighborhood fired a missile that landed close to Al Sheikh Zaied Mosque.
This attack took place as people were performing the noon prayer, causing panic among civilians.
Fadi Sobhi Abu Shanab, aged 27, was injured by shrapnel wounds to his right shoulder.
According to medical reports, Abu Shanab sustained moderate injuries.
Al Mezan condemns the escalating IOF offensive against Palestinian civilians and their property in the OPT, and reaffirms that the use of excessive and disproportionate force against Palestinians, the destruction of civilian houses, public establishments and electricity and water networks, the restrictions on Palestinians movement, and the impact of these practices on the public health, and their psychological health.
Coupled with its impacts, such conduct constitutes collective punishment, which is strictly prohibited by IHL.
Its also represents infringement of human rights as enshrined in ICCPR, ICESCR and CRC.
Al Mezan considers the toleration by the international community of the ongoing Israeli violations of Palestinians' human rights encouraging to Israel to continue with these practices and infringements.
The Center reiterates its demands to the international community, most notably the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention, to fulfill the legal and moral obligations emanating from the Convention and its purposes and objects, and immediately intervene to halt Israeli violations and provide protection to Palestinian civilians in the OPT.
