3 April 2018
At 1:00pm on Sunday, 1 April 2018, Israeli forces based in monitoring sites opened fire and launched tear-gas canisters at hundreds of protesters—youth and children—who demonstrated in near Al Shuhada cemetery in eastern Beit Lahia city as part of the ‘Great Return March’, called for by a national committee of Palestinian factions to honor Land Day. Five protesters were injured and thus taken to the Indonesia hospital, where their injuries were assessed to be moderate. All of these casualties sustained wounds by live ammunition in the lower parts of their bodies. Other protesters affected by tear gas received the necessary treatment by medical staff in the field. Israeli forces continued shooting until the evening of the same day.
