Six-year-old Osama from Jabalia refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip was the youngest of his siblings. He was a very spoilt child. He was an excellent student having received 97.6% as his first and last school grade. He was said to have dreamt of spending many years at school.

On 24 August 2014, Osama - along with his siblings and his mother - were in their yard when an Israeli drone targeted them. Five people were killed including Osama and his mother, Rawya, 43,and his siblings Tasneem, 14, Raghd, 12, and Mohammed, 8. “Osama was buried with his mother because of the lack of space for a separate grave for him,” his father said.
