IOF Closes Nahal Auz Crossing; More Electricity Cuts Expected

In the context of tightening the siege and closures and continuing the imposition of collective punishment on the population in the Gaza Strip, the IOF closed Nahal Auz crossing, on 16/1/2008.
This crossing point is located in the eastern Al Shaja'ia neighborhood in Gaza City.
This closure means fewer fuel supplies for Gaza Strip's only power station.
As a result, electricity cuts will increase, further exacerbating the crisis.
Therefore, electricity in the Gaza Strip will be cut more than five hours a day.
Since October 2007, electricity cuts reached its peak in January.
