At approximately 8:00 am on Wednesday, 20 January 2016, the Board of Directors of Al Quds Open University in Gaza announced the suspension of work and study in all the university branches in the Gaza Strip, in the North Gaza, Middle Gaza and Rafah districts indefinitely. The decision was made to protest against the Palestinian police breaking into the university campus and taking over some rooms.
