Al Mezan condemns the escalation of the state of insecurity and calls upon the PNA to undertake its duties to halt it

The state of insecurity has intensified in the Gaza Strip; armed persons attacked the Preventive Security Office in addition to successive incidents in Gaza, Khan Younis and Jabalia which resulted in the killing of 6 Palestinians and the injuring of 9.
Attacks on public facilities continued and unknown persons broke into the offices of Palestine TV in Khan Younis.
Based on Al Mezan field investigations, at 12pm on June 6th armed clashes erupted between armed persons and Preventive Security officials in front of the Preventive Security Offices located in Tel Il Hawa in Gaza City; clashes lasted for 20 minutes when unknown attackers fired rockets from the tops of adjacent buildings, wounding 6 Preventive Security officials with shrapnel; medical sources reported light injuries.
On June 5th at approximately 11.
25 am, an explosion in a three-storey house owned by the Thary family located in Al Zarqa area in downtown Jabalia killed Ibrahim Thary, 33, member of Izz Il Din Il Qassam Military Brigades and injuring Azzat Thary, 4, and Mariam Assaf, 50, and partially damaging the third floor.
On the same day at approximately 1.
30pm, armed persons attacked the building of Palestine TV located in Maan area in Khan Younis.
The perpetrators were participating in a funeral procession of Reem Maamar and Atia Al Ghalban, which was passing by the building.
They caused sever damage to the building and to equipment.
It was already stated that Reem Maamar Al Ghalban, 21, and Atia Al Ghalban, 20, and five other members of their family were killed on May 4th at approximately 9.
30pm.
In a separate incident, on June 4th, armed clashes occurred in the Beach Camp in Gaza City between armed persons, killing Nabil Al Balaawi, 28, Mohammad Al Bakri, 27, injuring Ayman Afana, 25, and another citizen whose identity is still unknown.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights expresses regret over the loss of citizens and condemns the increasing state of insecurity and the PNA's inability to take effective procedure to halt violence which has encouraged further extrajudicial actions.
Al Mezan hereby calls upon the PNA to immediately take practical steps to stop the state of insecurity, impose the law and eliminate armed manifestations in streets in order to secure stability and safety within Palestinian society.
