On Friday, 10 August 2018, Israeli forces killed two Palestinians at the weekly demonstration in Rafah, and a third died the next day of his wounds sustained in Israeli shooting. One of the victims was a volunteer paramedic. Another 30 people were injured, including 15 by live fire, eight by shrapnel, three by different in wounds, and four suffered from breathing difficulty due to Israeli forces’ heavy use of tear gas. Of the injured, 11 were children, seven of them by live fire and the other four by shrapnel. Al Mezan documented the three fatal casualties as follows:

Both journalists were injured while working in east Rafah. In some instances, protesters at the demonstrations in Rafah, Middle Gaza, and Gaza City were also attacked with artillery stun shells.
