At 9am on Thursday, 3 May 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel used live ammunition, plastic-coated steel bullets, and tear gas canisters on unarmed Palestinians joining the Great Return March demonstration organized near Malaka area in the east of Al Zaitoun neighborhood in east Gaza city. Four demonstrators, including three children, were injured by live fir. Doctors at Al Shifa Hospital said the four casualties ranged from moderate to serious. The shooting continued until 7pm on the same day.
