At 1:10pm on Friday, 13 April 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Rafah opened fire and launched tear-gas grenades at protesters joining the “Great Return March” demonstration for the third Friday in a row. 157 protesters were injured, including 36 children—of them 41 by live life, 94 by tear gas, two by the tear-gas grenades, and two others by rubber-coated metal bullets. Five of these casualties have been wounded critically. Seven paramedics were also harmed by tear gas. Ashraf Al Wawi, 38-year old paramedic working for the Red Crescent, was shot in the right leg. Muath Al Hams, 22-year old journalist, was wounded in the leg by a rubber-coated metal bullet.
