At 13:00 on Friday, 2 February 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders near Nahal Oz crossing opened fire at protesters joining a demonstration to denounce the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The demonstration included tens of children and youths. Israeli shooting led to the injury of six protesters, including two children, at various levels. Three of them were injured by ammunition and one by a tear-gas bombs, while the other two suffered from suffocation due to inhaling tear gas. Doctors at Al Shifa hospital assessed their injuries to range from light to moderate. Confrontations continued until 18:00 of the same evening.
