At approximately 02:00 pm on Saturday, 13 January 2018, Israeli forces located near the Nahal Oz area around eastern borders opened fire at tens of Palestinian young men and children who were protesting in Al Shujayya neighborhood in eastern Gaza the latest US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. One Palestinian was injured by a bullet and was admitted to Al Shifa Hospital; medical staff described his injury as moderate. Clashes between Palestinians and Israelis continued until 06:00 p.m on the same day.
