At 16:30 on Friday, 11 August 2017, Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) based at Gaza’s eastern borders tear-gassed and fired at tens of men and children from Burij refugee camp who marched near the borders following a call by a number of Palestinian factions to show solidarity with their fellow Palestinians in Jerusalem. Abdulrahman Sharif Al-Kharoobi, 17, was injured in his right leg, and Ahmed Al-Hajj, 27, in his right leg and hand. Both were taken to Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Dair Al-Balah, and their injuries were reported to be light.
