At approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday, 28 January 2017, the Gaza police investigation department arrested the writer Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah Abu Sharkh, 53, in Jabaliya police station in North Gaza district.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, Abu Sharkh is a resident of Al Saftawi neighborhood in North Gaza district. At approximately 11:30 am on the same day, the police investigation department left a written summon to Abu Sharik at his home ordering him to present himself at the police station in Jabaliya. When Abu Sharik went there he was arrested without knowing the reasons behind his arrest.
