Short Link:
Name: Yousif Ahmed Salem Madi
Date of birth: 19 August 2012
Date of death: 1 August 2014
One-year-old Yousif was from Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. He was a very clever boy and said to be a distinct child. He loved playing with his favorite teddy bear and on his bicycle. He smiled all the time. “His father wanted him to be a doctor,” his grandmother said.
On 1 August 2014, the Madi family home was targeted by an Israeli war plane. No prior notice was given. The house was destroyed by the missiles and six people were instantly killed. Yousif was one of those killed in the attack. Tens others were seriously injured. “Nobody expected that our house would be bombarded,” Yousif’s grandmother adds. He was only eighteen days away from receiving his second birthday’s presents.
