At approximately 1:45 pm on Saturday, 2 August 2014, Israeli warplane fired one missile at the house of Ahmed Al Romi, which is located in Al Hashasheen neighborhood in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. As a result, five people were killed, including Sumoud, her father, 51; her brother Abdel Rahman, 20; and her cousin Ameen, 14. On Monday, 11 August 2014, medical sources at The Egyptian Hospital announced the death of Smoud’s brother Mohammed Ahmed Al Romi, 23.
The family refused to talk with Al Mezan’s field worker about Sumoud. Sumoud was five years old at the time of death.
