Short Link:
Name: Seraj Iyad Abdel Aal
Date of Birth: 18 March 2007
Date of Death: 7 August 2014
Seraj, from the Joret Allot area in the city of Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was killed “when a missile from a drone hit my sister's house. I went to check on her family. Seraj's mother was in my house getting ready to leave for her husband's house in the city of Rafah. Before I reached my sister's house, an Israeli F16 warplane fired a missile at her home and concrete blocks fell into our house. Before that Seraj had been singing ‘I want to be a martyr’,” Seraj’s grandmother said.
Seraj liked sweets and pizza. He liked to play with other children and enjoyed playing computer games, particularly one called Zoma. He was smart and he liked football. He was an Al Ahli fan; also, sometimes he was a naughty boy. His ambition was to have a nice house. He was always telling his mother, ‘I will build a good house for you instead of our modest house’. Seraj was 7 years old when he was killed.
