Mohammed As’ad Hijazi from Rafah was a very spoilt little boy. He was a huge fan of FC Barcelona football team. He spent most of his spare time with his friends. He was doing well at school. He hoped to go to university to continue his studies. “He was close to me. His mother is always crying. Life does not even seem worth living after his death,” says his father.
At approximately 9:00 am on Sunday, 3 August 2014, an Israeli war plane attacked the vicinity of Al Sabreen mosque in Al Siyamat neighborhood in northern Rafah. As a result, Ilham ‘Okal, 33, was killed. She had been cooking in the yard of her house. People rushed to help her. Another missile was shot by the Israeli war plane. Three more people were killed, including Mohammed. He was 17.
