Name: Khalaf Attei’ah Odah Abu Sneimah
Date of birth: 20 January 1998
Date of death: 22 July 2014
Sixteen-year-old Khalaf from the northern Shokah area in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was a calm and obedient child. His hobbies were playing football, flying kites and playing computer games. He was close to his mother. “He used to take very good care of his little sister,” his sister Zinat, 30, said.
On 22 July 2014, two older women were injured in an Israeli bombardment just outside Khalaf’s house. Khalaf and his bother Khalil rushed to help. An Israeli drone targeted the site again. The boys who had rushed to help were both immediately killed. “His father pleaded with human rights organizations to sue the Israeli military for targeting innocent Palestinian children,” added Zinat.
