Date of death: 3 August 2014
Sixteen-year-old Ismail from the Kherbet Al Adas area in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was a calm and popular child. He left school because he was not a good student. “He had had asthma from when he was a baby. He couldn’t run, so when he played football with his friends he was the goal keeper,” his mother said.
Ismail’s sister located to an UNRWA school shelter for safety. He would go there to help her. On 3 August 2014, he went to the school as usual. An Israeli missile hit the school. Many people were killed, including Ismail and his cousin. “It was a very difficult moment for me when I heard about Ismail’s killing,” his mother added.
