One-year-old Sarah from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was a beautiful and daring child. She was not afraid like most children. “The family’s children ask for her; they ask where has Sara gone,” said her father. “Her father now spends most of his time in his room recalling memories of his wife and daughter, looking at their photos, and contemplating experiences that they shared,” said her grandmother.
Sara’s mother evacuated her house and relocated to her father’s house in search of shelter. On 1 August 2014, the house was bombarded by Israeli missiles. Sara was immediately killed along with her mother, Aidah, who was 24.
