Name: Reenad Tayseer Ahmed Abu Jamee
Date of Birth: 14 November 2012
Date of Death: 20 July 2014
One and a half-year-old Reenad from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was described as the ‘flower’ of the house. She was the spoilt child in the family according to her father. She was very close to her father, and she liked him to carry her all the time. “She used to cry when somebody would try to take her from me,” her father said.
On 20 July 2014, just before sunset, the Abu Jamee’s three-story house was bombarded by missiles by Israeli forces. There was no prior warning given. “It was a real massacre; twenty-six people were killed. Three people were injured and survived,” her father added.
