Date of birth: 11 August 1997
Date of death: 26 July 2014
16 year old Rawan, from Khan Younis was tall and beautiful. She wanted to be a teacher. “I used to rely on her in keeping up the household. She took care of me when I was sick and was very kind to me,” said her mother.
"We left our house in Khzaah, Khan Younis because it was in a dangerous border area. We headed to my husband’s sister’s house in Bany Suheila on 25 July 2014. At 2:50 am on 26 July 2014 I woke up to prepare the ‘Sohour’ meal for my children, and suddenly, I felt I was starting to sink down and that rubble and dust was covering me. I heard neither explosion nor bombardment sounds. The house was a three-story building inhabited by twenty persons. My daughter Rawan and my son Ahmed were killed. Our neighbors came to excavate a fifteen-meter deep hole to rescue residents, and Civil Defense and ambulances arrived to help. Her cousin who wanted to marry her was also killed by Israeli attacks ," said Rawan’s mother.
