Short Link:
Name: Mohamed Jamil Al Najjar
Date of birth: 9 March 2002
Date of death: 29 July 2014
Twelve-year-old Mohamed from Khan Younis was in eighth grade. He was a humorous boy and liked laughing and imitating others. He was able to cope with the difficult conditions surrounding him. He was the source of joy for his family. “He used to imitate his brothers,” said his mother. He would sing for them. He also liked wrestling with his brother and would play the role of John Cena. Mahmoud was a responsible person, saving his money to buy boxes of biscuits to sell in the city park. He continued to sell this way until he got a permanent place, a small shop, in the park.
Four families, including the Al Najjar family, were living in the Al Dali building in Khan Younis. Without warning, the building was bombarded by Israeli warplanes. It was destroyed. Thirty-five people were killed, including Mohamed at the age of twelve.
