Date of Death: 13 July 2014
Two-year-old Moayad Khaled Ali Al Aaraj from Khan Younis was still a baby when he was killed. But he was said to have already had a strong personality. He defended his brother when they were playing and helped his sister, Ayat, 6, to carry her kindergarten bag. He liked playing with his football.
Moayad’s family left their home in the eastern part of Khan Younis refugee camp when it was hit by shrapnel in an Israeli attack. They moved into Moayad’s uncle’s house. On 13 July 2014, at around 1:00 am the house was attacked by an Israeli drone. Moayad was instantly killed and his body was dismembered. “It’s so hard losing one of your son’s,” said his mother, Shatila, 31.
