Date of Death: 1 August 2014
Seven-year-old Maysoon from Bani Suheila in Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was a pretty child. She spent a lot of time in front of the mirror, combing her hair. “Her father spoilt her more than her siblings,” says her mother. She was excellent at school and she wanted to be a teacher.
“During the war, the bombardment was near our house, and Maysoon was very scared and shaking. We left our house to go to our relatives’. At approximately 4:00 am on 1 August 2014, while we were sleeping, a missile from an Israeli drone struck our yard, followed by two others. So we started evacuating. The first group of us was targeted with a missile from an Israeli drone, killing five, including Maysson, who was carrying her belongings,” her mother said.
