Date of Birth: 18 December 2008
Date of Death: 29 July 2014
5-year-old Ezzeldin Waddah Hassan Abu Amer from Khan Younis liked to play with his play station and with other computer games, like many boys his age. Less commonly, he also liked to dismantle and reassemble his toys. He was attached to his father and spent a lot of time with him, but at the same time, he couldn’t wait to start school so that he could join his older brothers. His grandmother called him Ezzeldin because she had hoped he would live a happy and dignified life.
On 29 July 2014, an Israeli warplane attacked the Al Dali high rise building. Most of the people who were in the building were killed in the attack. The Abu Amer family had evacuated their home in Abasan and relocated to Khan Younis in search of shelter. At the time of the attack on Al Dali, the Abu Amer family was living in Toyour Al Janna kindergarten, which is located adjacent to Al Dali. 16 people from the Abu Amer family were killed in the attack, including Ezzeldine.
