Yazan Emad Abu Khusah from the Al Sawarhah area in the south of the Gaza Strip was a very clever child. He loved drawing and writing. He would bring his grandfather his hat and he liked to imitate his grandfather. He often slept in his grandfather’s bed. Yazan was very clever and liked to dismantle his toys with a screwdriver. “He was a clever boy. He used to do everything I asked,” said his grandfather.
On 29 July 2014, the family home was bombarded by Israeli warplanes, without prior warning. The house was destroyed and the family was buried beneath the rubble. Yazan was killed at the age of four.
