Fourteen-year-old Ahmed from the Abu Ghrab neighborhood in Deir Al Balah in the center of the Gaza Strip was a talented child. He loved drawing, reading and playing football. His ambition was to be a professional football player and to represent Palestine. He was an FC Barcelona fan. “He used to help his father in his work,” said his mother.
On 10 August 2014, when Ahmed was passing by a plot of agricultural land on his way to the hospital to receive treatment or his eyes, an Israeli warplane targeted the land. Ahmed was instantly killed.
