Four-year-old Ahmed from Block-3 in Al Bureij camp in the middle of the Gaza was a very clever, serious and curious child. He tended to be a very competitive boy. He liked to play with cars, ride his bike and to play football. He liked to stay with his grandparents to listen to their interesting stories. "His death was a great shock to the whole family. We are still crying and remembering his words," said his grandmother.
Ahmed's family moved to his uncle's house after a neighboring house to theirs was attacked. On the second day of the Eid Al Fitr holiday, Israeli artillery shelled his uncle's house. After leaving the house, the family realized that they had lost Ahmed. When they returned to the attacked house, they found that he had suffocated from smoke inhalation. They took him to Al Nasser hospital. Two days later, he died. "My father and my mother died but I didn’t feel the pain that I felt when Ahmed died," his grandfather said.
