Name: Abdel Samad Mahmoud Ahmed Ramadan
Date of birth: 3 October 1998
Date of death: 28 July 2014
Fifteen-year-old Abdel Samad from Ard Matar in Al Nusirat in the middle of the Gaza Strip was a cheerful and obedient child. He had a twin brother Abdullah. His hobbies were playing football and reading. His ambition was to be an ophthalmologist in order to help people with problems with their sight. “He was close to his uncle,” said his grandfather.
On 28 July 2014, the adjacent house to Abdel Samad’s was bombarded by Israeli warplanes with missiles. The residents did not receive prior warning. Blocks of concrete and shrapnel were scattered around, hitting the neighboring houses. Abdel Samad was directly hit by shrapnel and was immediately killed. Twelve others were seriously injured.
