Ten-year-old Zakaria from Al Shate’e refugee camp in Gaza City was the youngest of his siblings. He was beloved and had a strong personality. His hobby was playing football and swimming. He liked fish and fishing. He liked school and studying. He was very kind with his married sister and used to visit her. "He used to help his mother in the household tasks," said his father A'ahed (54).
On 16 July 2014, five cousins from the Baker family went to Gaza beach to play football. They were targeted by Israeli forces. Some of them were instantly killed and others were injured and tried to run away. Israeli forces attacked them a second and a third time. Four of them were killed, including Zakaria, and one was seriously injured named Mo'atasem (12).
