One-month-old Rahaf from Al Shate’e refugee camp in Gaza City was her parents’ sole child so she brought immense happiness to them. Her mother said she took great care of herself during her pregnancy to have a healthy baby.
On 29 July 2014, the second day of Eid, Rahaf was sleeping when a very close bombardment was carried out by Israeli forces, shaking the entire house. Her grandmother went to check on her, but she discovered that her body was cold. She was taken to the hospital whereupon she was declared dead. Her skull had broken.
“Rahaf’s mother says that she lost part of her soul,” said Rahaf’s grandmother.
