Date of birth: 28 December 2006
Date of death: 30 July 2014
Seven-year-old Omniah from Gaza City was a talented, smart and a little bit of a stubborn child. She liked to play with her dolls and toys. She was a fantastic student, so she was enthusiastic about starting the new academic year. Her ambition was to be a teacher. She was close to her father and she liked playing computer games. "She liked to wear her mother's clothes," said her aunt.
At approximately 5:00 pm on Wednesday, 30 July 2014, the Israeli forces announced a truce. The grandfather in the house took his grandchildren up to the roof to play, as they had done before the war. Without warning, Israeli forces attacked them. As a result, grandfather Abdel Kareem Al Silik, 70, and his seven grandchildren: Leena, 8; Malak, 6; Ola, 9; Omniah 7; Abdel Haleem, 5; Abdel Aziz, 3; and Lian, 3, were instantly killed.
