Eleven-year-old Nedal from Al Sheja'eiah in Gaza City was a daring and active child. He had a strong personality. He had a difficult life. His grandfather was taking care of him. He used to raise birds and sell them to get some money. “He used to collect some scraps to sell them to get some money to help his family,” said his mother, 35.
Nedal's family evacuated their house and headed to the Al Zaytoon neighborhood seeking safe shelter. Israeli forces carried out a violent shelling. Nedal was seriously injured and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was transferred to a hospital in Jerusalem to get better medical care. After twelve days he died from his injuries.
