Date of death: 12July 2014
Seventeen-year-old Mohamed from the Al Toffah neighborhood in Gaza City was said to be a calm and kind child. After the death of his father, Mohamed took the position of the man of the house. He took care of his mother and his younger brother. He intended to learn a technical skill, so that he could get a job and earn money to help his family. “He used to do all of the repairs in our house,” said his mother.
On 12 July 2014, while the whole family was inside the Al-Batsh family's house, the house was targeted by Israeli forces with two missiles. No prior warning was given and the house was completely destroyed. Twenty members of the family were killed on the spot, including Mohamed. Seven people were seriously injured. All of the victims were buried on a plot of land next to their destroyed house.
