Nine-year-old Mohamed from Al Sheja’eiah in the east of Gaza City was a smart, distinct and diligent child. He was an excellent student at school and had a leader’s personality. During after school hours, he played, taking part in bicycle races with other children. “He was very ambitious; he hoped to be a doctor in the future,” said his grandmother.
On 9 July 2014, Mohamed’s mother asked him to go to the nearby supermarket to buy some essential items. On his way, the pedestrians in the street were directly targeted by an Israeli drone. Mohamed and his brother Ameer were hit by shrapnel and died on the spot.
