Five-year-old Mohamed from Al Sheja'eiah in Gaza City was said to be a mischievous and clever child. He was enthusiastic about going to kindergarten and he loved playing computer games and football. He liked to dance, to laugh, and to imitate others. “He liked to eat too much,” said his aunt Diana (17).
On 20 July 2014, the Israeli shelling intensified in Al Shujai’a and the Ayyad family attempted to flee. While seeking shelter, they were directly struck by Israeli shells. Numerous civilians were killed in this shelling, including Mohamed and his mother.
