Date of death: 30 July 2014
Six-year-old Malak from Gaza City had a strong and daring personality mixed with sweetness. She was an angel. She liked to get what she wanted and to be rewarded when she achieved something. She was described as the sweetheart of the house. She was the youngest member of her siblings and the most beautiful and loving one. She was bought her new Eid holiday clothes, but did not have a chance to wear them. "When I looked her in the eyes, I could feel her kindness," said her mother.
At 5:00 pm on 30 July 2014, when a truce was declared, Malak’s grandfather took all of the children to the roof of the house. The children were busy playing in the open air when, without warning, they were targeted by an Israeli drone. Seven people were immediately killed, six of them children, including Malak.
