Name: Mahmoud Ashraf Mahmoud Al-Khalili
Date of birth: 1 April 2007
Date of death: 30 July 2014
Seven-year-old Mahmoud from Gaza City was a daring and intelligent child. He had a strong personality. He was supposed to start second grade soon. He was very close to his father and liked to be around him. The sounds of the explosions did not scare him during the war. He liked playing football and computer games. “He used to help his mother and me all the time,” said his grandmother, while crying.
On 21 July 2014, Mahmoud's family decided to evacuate their house due to intense and random shelling by Israeli forces. When they had reached the yard and were waiting for the car, they were directly targeted with a missile from an Israeli drone. Eight members of the family were killed on the spot, including Mahmoud.
