Name: Leena Alaa Abdelkareem Al Selk
Date of birth: 9 April 2006
Date of death: 30 July 2014
Eight-year-old Leena from Gaza City was a smart girl and very good student. She had also memorized seven chapters of the Quran. She spent most of her time reading and watching the children’s TV channel. She was a very kind and sociable girl. She would apologize when she made a mistake. Her ambition was to be a teacher, because she liked her teacher. “She used to write on the walls of the house, which have now become very good memories of her. "She loved the color red, so she used to buy all her stuff in red," said her mother.
At 5:00 pm on 30 July 2014, when a truce was declared, Leena's grandfather took all of the children to the roof of the house. The children were busy playing in the open air when, without warning, they were targeted by an Israeli drone. Seven people were immediately killed, six of them children, including Leena.
