Date of death: 4 August 2014
Seven-year-old Aseel from Gaza City was an active child. She helped her mother around the house. She liked to play with her dolls and toys. She was enthusiastic about going to school. She took very good care of her looks. “She liked to listen to and to sing children’s songs and to dance to their melodies,” said her grandmother who is 78.
On 4 August 2014, while the Al-Bakri family was getting ready to have their Iftar breakfast meal, the house was targeted with two Israeli missiles. There was no warning. The three-story house was destroyed. Five members of the family were instantly killed, including little Aseel. Six others were seriously injured.
